AboitizPower and REPCO NEX Collaborate to Develop the First Smart Power Plant in the Philippines

Through a groundbreaking partnership, REPCO NEX and AboitizPower are proud to play a key role in developing the Philippines’ first smart power plant under the ambitious “Project Arkanghel.”

This project focuses on creating a Digital Twin for AboitizPower’s Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) coal-fired power plants, beginning with:

  1. Therma South Power Plant, a 300-megawatt facility in Davao City.
  2. Therma Visayas Power Plant, a 340-megawatt facility in Toledo City, Cebu Province.

A Digital Twin is a virtual model of the power plant, enabling operators to simulate scenarios, detect faults, and resolve issues quickly in a virtual environment. By leveraging data science and artificial intelligence (AI), it aims to optimize the plant’s operational efficiency.

Key Benefits of the System Include:

  1. Enhanced data collection and analysis.
  2. Improved equipment health monitoring.
  3. Effective lifecycle management of assets.
  4. Predictive maintenance capabilities.

With its ability to anticipate and resolve potential issues, the system minimizes both planned and unplanned downtimes, ensuring greater reliability and efficiency for the power plants.

As a leader in asset performance solutions, REPCO NEX is delighted to partner with AboitizPower on this pivotal project. We are confident that our expertise will elevate the operations of power plants in the Philippines and serve as a model for energy industry advancements across Southeast Asia.

We hope this collaboration marks a significant milestone in revolutionizing the Philippine energy sector, supporting the country’s sustainable economic growth.

We extend our gratitude to international media outlets for spotlighting the collaboration between AboitizPower and REPCO NEX in developing the Philippines’ first smart power plant.
This coverage helps showcase the technological progress in Southeast Asia’s energy industry to the global audience. We hope this partnership inspires further innovation and development in the global energy sector.
